PHUTANIKAN

‘Phu’ means mountain or island. ‘Tani’ is banana fruit. ‘Kan’ comes from ‘Peranakan’ which is a blending of southern Thai indigenous culture and ancestry. PHUTANIKAN draws from elements around the path of banana garden, an idea evolving from complex appear-simple ultimatum of a banana tree. The collection redefines new silhouettes from Peranakan history. The origin of ‘SAMWANAK’ prints from Phutanikan collection is exclusively designed by designer’s hometown.
